Dear All,

GAABESU, based upon suggestions from senior alumni, has taken a new initiative to archive B E College/IIEST history as seen by our alumni living all around the world. We shall place all the contributions received, may be, in the form of written story, audio recording or video recording in our website and also would like to publish a book with the contributions.

What - Archiving history of B E College/IIEST Shibpur from the lenses of alumni 

Why - IIEST Shibpur is the second oldest engineering college of India has a History of 160+ years. Like all History, this Institute also has many a stories. Our rich history like these is not known to our recent generations and our alumni of the 1950s and 1960s, knowing this history first hand are leaving us gradually. 

How - this part is already covered above.

Calls for Action

1. If you like to participate as a contributing author, please send an abstract of your proposal not exceeding 500 words by May 15, 2023. All the proposals will be reviewed and you will be invited to share your story over zoom so that the recorded, archived and edited version will be included in the history book. 

2. If you like to write and edit, please join us as a member of this editorial board to complete this task.  We expect you will be able to work with one contributing author and finalize the article for the book.

3. We would also like to make video recordings of interviews with some of our senior alumnus keeping the Institute as a background, with the help of our student photographic enthusiasts from Institute. If any of you are willing, please let us know.
